چکیده
In order to reveal the inhibitory effect of pomegranate punicalagin on macrophage foam cell formation and its possible mechanism, Raw264.7 macrophages were as experimental carrier detect cholesterol accumulation outflow, evaluate regulation related genes CD36, PPARγ outflow ABCA1/G1, LXRα by Western-Blot method. The results showed that can inhibit in raw264.7 due restraining PPARγ-CD36 expression, meanwhile it could also promote efflux regulating LXRα-ABCA1/G1 pathway.

Pomegranate juice, total pomegranate ellagitannins, and punicalagin suppress inflammatory cell signaling in colon cancer cells.
Phytochemicals from fruits such as the pomegranate (Punica granatum L) may inhibit cancer cell proliferation and apoptosis through the modulation of cellular transcription factors and signaling proteins. In previous studies, pomegranate juice (PJ) and its ellagitannins inhibited proliferation and induced apoptosis in HT-29 colon cancer cells. The present study examined the effects of PJ on infl...
متن کاملPolydatin Inhibits Formation of Macrophage-Derived Foam Cells
Rhizoma Polygoni Cuspidati, a Chinese herbal medicine, has been widely used in traditional Chinese medicine for a long time. Polydatin, one of the major active ingredients in Rhizoma Polygoni Cuspidati, has been recently shown to possess extensive cardiovascular pharmacological activities. In present study, we examined the effects of Polydatin on the formation of peritoneal macrophage-derived f...
متن کامل[Diclofenac inhibits Kv1.3 and Kir2.1 expressions in human macrophages and affects the membrane potential and foam cell formation].
OBJECTIVE To investigate the effect of diclofenac on the expression of Kv1.3 and Kir2.1 channels in human macrophages and the membrane potential and foaming process of the macrophages. METHODS The effect of diclofenac on the expression of Kv1.3 and Kir2.1 channels in cultured human monocyte-derived macrophages was investigated using real-time RT-PCR and Western blotting, and its effect on the...
متن کاملApocynin inhibits peroxynitrite formation by murine macrophages.
Peroxynitrite (ONOO(-)) the highly reactive coupling product of nitric oxide and superoxide, has been implicated in the pathogenesis of an increasing number of (inflammatory) diseases. At present, however, selective peroxynitrite antagonizing agents with therapeutic potential are not available. Therefore, the NADPH-oxidase inhibitor apocynin (4-hydroxy-3-methoxy-acetophenone) was tested for its...
متن کاملContribution of monocyte-derived macrophages and smooth muscle cells to arterial foam cell formation.
Smooth muscle cells (SMCs) are the main cell type in intimal thickenings and some stages of human atherosclerosis. Like monocyte-derived macrophages, SMCs accumulate excess lipids and contribute to the total intimal foam cell population. In contrast, apolipoprotein (Apo)E-deficient and LDL receptor-deficient mice develop atherosclerotic lesions that are macrophage- as opposed to SMC-rich. The l...
